Synchronization of brain waves occurs between two individuals who share a common understanding. The circular motion of the two face molds represents time; like the arrow of time, the faces always turn, synching in and out with each other. The time-based medium of movies provides stories of characters whose lives weave together temporarily before separating into an interlude.
Two face casts are rotated by stepper motors, each with an adjustable speed that the audience can interact with, though consistent synchronization is not possible. What begins as synchronized movement becomes increasingly organic over time, reflecting how human interaction works: moments of shared understanding occur, but they are always temporary.
