Women have experienced being defined by anything or anyone, but our personhood. We feel the need to prove our inherent value through acts of service, or performing for someone else’s pleasure. This piece addresses the impossible expectations of becoming a “real girl as a metaphor of a ladder, the steps of which are impossible
to climb.
